What are the responsibilities and job description for the DRIVERS position at Lutheran Home?
The Van Driver at the Lutheran Home and Saxony Village is to provide safe, friendly, and timely transportation for our residents, families, and employees. The Van Driver must remain flexible and professional as appointments and preparations may change frequently.
- Inspect vehicles at the beginning and end of the shifts for safety and maintenance concerns.
- Provide safe, friendly, and timely transportation for our residents and employees to appointments, outings, and the hospitals.
- Communicate in a professional manner with coworkers about changes in transportation needs.
- Maintain service logs.
- Ensure the vehicles are sanitized throughout the shift.
- Perform housekeeping tasks in the maintenance shed and break room.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Report all accidents.
- Abide by all laws concerning driving.
- Respond to medical emergencies by obtaining assistance from nursing staff.
Required Education and Experience
Maintain class E chauffer’s license with no high-risk insurance
