Position Summary:
The Medication Tech is an essential front-line role that provides medication management and assistance with activities of daily living for residents of the assisted living facility. The Med Tech is responsible for providing consistent quality care services, maintaining the comfort and safety of residents, and supporting the goals for ALF objectives to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Represents the Assisted Living Facility in a positive manner by creating an environment that fosters empathy, respect and politeness for residents and team members.
· Administers prescription medication at the appropriate times for assigned unit during shift. Accountable for signing off on all medications at the time of administration.
· Responsible for transfers of new prescriptions to the MAR from the physicians or admissions orders.
· Responsible for real-time documentation of resident care and observations.
· Assist with care plan assessments as needed.
· Communicate timely with the nurse manager or appropriate designee any observed changes in resident’s condition/ behavior, unusual occurrences or reactions to medication.
· Assists resident with the activities of daily living which include but are not limited to personal hygiene, social and wellness activities, dining, safety and evacuations, bathing, dressing, and transporting.
· Provides assistance to residents in the dining room including serving, bussing, order taking, and the refilling of beverage.
· Engages and assists residents with recreational, motivational and socialization activities.
· Responsible for regular rounding with residents to anticipate and identify needs and respond timely and appropriately.
· Fully understand all aspects of residents’ rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Responsible for promptly reporting incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights.
· Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them.
· Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of resident apartment.
· Adhere to infection control procedures including but not limited to hand washing and isolation practices.
· Adhere to Par Scanning procedures to ensure accurate tally of supply usage and availability.
· Maintain clinical competence through completion of annual continuing education requirements.
· Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
· May participate in interdisciplinary customer and service improvement initiatives.
Required Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma/Equivalent
· Current Med Tech certification
· Current BLS (CPR) certification
Salary : $26,400 - $33,400
