What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at Lyon College?
Systems Administrator- Join Our Tech Dream Team! Are you a wizard with wires? A sorcerer of servers? Do you believe that with great power comes great responsibility… to keep our systems running smoothly? If you answered "yes" to these questions and have a knack for making tech magic happen, then you might just be the Systems Administrator we’re looking for! At Lyon College, we don’t just reboot—we reboot with style. Imagine a place where your tech skills can shine as bright as your personality. Whether you're in Batesville, Cabot, or Little Rock, you'll find that our campuses are filled with adventure, camaraderie, and the occasional dramatic moment when the network goes down (don’t worry, we’ve got snacks for those crises).
Picture this: You're the hero we call when the servers start acting up like rebellious teenagers. You're the one who makes sure our virtual servers don't throw a tantrum and that our Authentication System isn't plotting against us. As our Systems Administrator, you'll have stories to tell at every party about that one time you saved the Microsoft Remote Desktop farm for the Dental School. Plus, you’ll get to interface with vendors, contractors, and consultants who’ll look at you like you’re the tech whisperer. Your participation in college committees will add some zest to your already adventurous workdays, and let's not forget—some nights and weekends might just turn into epic quests.
On a more serious note, we're looking for someone with substantial relevant experience, a minimum of four years, who can communicate and work well with faculty, staff, and students. Microsoft or VMWare certifications are preferred, and experience with Oracle databases is a plus. Strategic thinking, effective planning, and successful implementation are key skills we need. You'll also need to be physically capable of sitting for extended periods, using the telephone to conduct business, and standing and lifting moderate weights. If you’re ready to join a dynamic and engaging team, apply now and bring your tech talents to Lyon College!
