Lyons Magnus is seeking Sanitation/Quality Supervisor for its Beloit, WI, Facility. This will be a 2nd shift role. 


 Job Duties

  • ·Supervise all PQG Technicians on the off shifts to ensure that batches are tested as prescribed in the formulas, and proper techniques-SOPs and best practices are applied to achieve compliance to product specifications.
  •  Support all QA functions on the off shifts., such as batch adjustments for all processing lines, processing line checks and verifications including brix, viscosity, pH, T.A and any other analytical analysis as required by a customer or formula.
  •  Verify all laboratory and PQG SOPs; and performance metrics are met or exceeded, with a focus on customer expectations.
  •  Ensure that process control checklists, as developed, are filled out completely by all operators (including, but not limited to sterilization check lists, in-process checklists, packaging checklists, etc.)
  •  Review and investigate all deviations from operating parameters with production, PQG staff and root cause effectively.
  •  Review all quality and food safety checks in Red Zone for accuracy and completeness within 72 hours of checks being completed or documented and follow up accordingly with personnel or escalation.
  •  Support in the creation of training materials; SOPs, VWIs and OPLs for the successful implementation and adherence to company, customer, SQF, and regulatory food safety and quality requirements.
  •  Support the management and development of employee skills matrix and their respective development plans.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment and supporting operations measuring devices are calibrated, verified as scheduled and functioning as designed.  Troubleshoot and or escalate to vendors for effective repair or replacement.
  •  Ensure customer product sampling is collected and prepared for shipment to customer as requested.
  • Continuously improve processes with regards to defect reduction and the support in management of customer complaint investigations and record review.
  •  Primary owner of root cause analysis and problem solving for all QA/FS related incidents on the off shifts.
  •  Ensure all scheduled plant sanitation activities for processing equipment is executed as defined in the SSOPs and efficiently.  
  •  Ensure all direct reports follow a strict regimen of safety precautions while cleaning, CIPing, COPing, etc.
  •  Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring Master Sanitation Schedule.
  •  Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring sanitation standard operating procedures for all CIP circuits, processing equipment, packaging equipment, building, etc., to ensure repeatability of cleaning standards and efficacy.
  •  Participate in food safety and regulatory audits.
  • Assist in overseeing the purchasing of sanitation supplies and operating within budget.
  •  Ensure all cleaning equipment and tools are maintained for peak performance and effective cleaning. 
  • Ensure proper concentrations of chemicals, and temperatures are reached to maintain an effective cleaning.
  • Collaborate with Production Leadership to ensure all changeovers are executed properly.
  •  Study and provide technical assistance to QA Leadership for continually improving methodologies and programs.
  •  Lead team in troubleshooting efforts for CIP and sanitation related issues.
  • Perform or instruct reports to perform any requested task given by the Plant Management Team.
  •  Make recommendations to the Plant Management Team regarding personnel requirements and training needs.
  •  Managerial duties as prescribed by Director of Quality Assurance or QA Manager

  • A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning, and overall time management skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication,

Education, etc. 

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in Food Science

• A minimum of 3 years of successful experience in the food service industry 

• A comprehensive understanding of the core competencies of manufacturing capabilities and propriety product development.

• A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning, and overall time management skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication
