Fairview Health Services is hiring a Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (CV/EP) Technician to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. Were offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus!
Do you want to join a supporting, experienced, multi-modality team who performed over 4000 procedures in 2021? As a CV/EP Tech, you would be joining a growing program where you will work in both the CV and EP rooms with procedures done in our Cath Lab department that include diagnostic and interventional EP procedures, diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, tilt tables, TAVR, WATCHMAN, and Robotic PCI. The technician will assist with these procedures while providing diagnostic testing, collecting and assessing data, performing the scrub role, and assisting the cardiologist.
Schedule: This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 10 hours on the day shift. This position will also work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities/Job Description
As a CV/EP Tech, you will be responsible for:
- Demonstrating the ability to safely and accurately operate equipment:
- Operate monitor/recording equipment in all cardiac cath lab procedures.
- Able to electrically and mechanically balance and calibrate pressure transducers and amplifiers in all rooms.
- Troubleshoots and corrects ECG tracing problems.
- Operates tableside C-arm controls.
- Insures all POC testing equipment is maintained according to established standards.
- Applies prescribed three major principals of radiation safety at all times.
- Collecting, assessing, and maintaining patient data:
- Enters patient demographics into both monitoring and x-ray equipment.
- Records all patient and monitor data on event log according to established guidelines.
- Archives procedure to CD-Rom.
- Enters all data into computer system for accurate billing and patient procedure history.
- Reduces all right and left heart data to basic form for physician interpretation and reporting.
- Assesses and documents pulses distal to catheter insertion site pre- and post-surgical.
- Recognizes rhythms and sudden hemodynamic changes.
- Assisting invasive cardiologist with all invasive coronary procedures:
- Ability to scrub in all procedures in diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and EP.
- Proficient in patient preparation and sterile tray set up.
- Assists the cardiologist with required catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining the required sterile technique.
- Completing all other Core EP duties:
- Operates monitor/recorder and intracardiac simulator for EP studies.
- Operates RF Ablation equipment.
- With use of computer, draw and calculate LV grams to include ejection fraction and stroke volume.
- Monitor for EP studies/ablations, integrating use of EP mapping systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education
- Graduate of an education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
- License/Certification/Registration
- Current CPR
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 30 days of start date
- Obtain any of the following within 1 year:
- Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RTR)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience
- 1 to 3 years of Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) experience.
