What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Sales Representative position at M2 Logistics?
As a Regional Carrier Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role at M2 Logistics by identifying, sourcing, and developing strong business relationships with service providers to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. Your top priority is ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of customer freight while building and maintaining relationships with carriers. You will be a master of negotiation and source the best rates on a spot or transactional basis. You thrive in an ever-changing environment, taking a proactive approach in learning the pricing and capacity fluctuations in the truckload shipping market.
The Position
- Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships.
- Making calls to capture available equipment and market capacity; negotiate on a high level; booking trucks on loads in a profitable, efficient manner.
- Onboarding and qualifying new carriers for M2 Logistics, Inc.
- Review of contracts, insurance, safety, authority, and a variety of other background checks on the carrier.
- Effectively use telephone, email, and other forms of communication to represent M2 Logistics in the most professional manner.
- Anticipate and identify problems and proactively work to solve them.
- Accountable for meeting key factors in areas such as service, carrier volume, carrier growth and expansion, and lane profitability.
- Ultimately responsible for adding carrier capacity to the network; load tracking to make sure all loads pick up and deliver on time
- Visiting and performing business reviews with carriers to further develop relationships.
