M9 Solutions is seeking aSoftware Developer- Mid Level to workremotely on a government contract for a client located inArlington, VA. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.
- Create implementation or integration approach for applications and components.
- Translate system requirements into design specifications.
- Provide primary support for installation of application releases into production.
- Design and code applications in line with programming standards and interface specifications.
- Design, develop, and configure software systems to meet market and/or client requirements either end-to-end from analysis, design, implementation, quality assurance (including testing), to delivery and maintenance of the software product or system or for a specific phase of the lifecycle.
- Apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support a client, project, or entity.
- Build and develop according to technical design.
- Work with Business Analysts team to identify design gaps and functionality improvements.
- Develop Java/Scala based REST APIs based on technical designs.
- Produce estimates for new functionality or enhancements.
- Create and execute unit tests for developed components.
- Troubleshoot different environments including production for development issues.
- Provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyze, define, and support the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for an application or group of applications.
- Assist in facilitating impact assessment efforts and in producing and reviewing estimates for client work requests.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Work Authorization: US Citizenship, or Permanent Resident Status for at least 3 consecutive years is required.
- Ability to pass a background investigation for a Public Trust clearance.
- 3 years of experience with Java development.
- 2 years of experience with Scala
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases and hands-on experience is a plus.
- Trained in the following: Java, JavaScript, REST, and Gradle.
- Basic understanding of Agile development methodology and AWS environment.
- Ability to analyze logs; preferably Splunk.
- Advance proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
- Beginner level proficiency in Amazon Web Services and Splunk.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Scala.
- Ability to perform in high pressure environment and under strict deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
