What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Documentation Specialist position at MAC and Associates?
The Loan Documentation Specialist provides exceptional service to our customers. This role is mostly CRE, some C & I, but no consumer loans or mortgages. The person in this role must be able to:
- Demonstrate technical proficiency with loan documentation software
- Possess comprehensive understanding of loan terminology and loan structure
- Possess appropriate knowledge of legal entity structure and ownership (e.g., corporations, LLCs and land trusts)
- Possess solid understanding of the requirements and methods of perfecting a security lien
- Demonstrate proficiency in mortgage title insurance, including, but not limited to: policy endorsements, clearing title exceptions, and coordinating title company closings
- Possess advanced understanding of UCC laws as demonstrated by the ability to perform accurate searches and precise filings
- Possess adequate understanding of the core processing system as demonstrated by the ability to accurately book/board loans and perform loan maintenance
- Possess experience with set up and service of real estate tax escrow, including escrow analysis
- Possess a solid understanding of real estate and equipment appraisals, hazard insurance and flood insurance as it pertains to loan collateral
- Demonstrate technical proficiency with traditional application software programs (spreadsheet, word processing, database, and scheduling) to perform required daily tasks
- Manage time effectively, prioritize work appropriately, and consistently meet deadlines
- Produce professional and articulate written correspondence
- Protect the Bank and its customers by maintaining a high level of security awareness
- Take the initiative to follow-up, escalate, or seek additional resources to ensure customer satisfaction in a timely manner
- Take accountability and ownership for the accuracy and quality of work
- Understand and adhere to all established company policies and regulatory requirements
- Complete all required bank training and adapt concepts and procedures
- Maintain a professional image with a clean and uncluttered work area and organized loan files

Required Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in loan documentation
- Laser Pro
- Recent experience or formal training in consumer loan regulations including TRID
- Proficiency in office software
