The Corporate Controller will play a critical strategic role in the company's financial management. This position is responsible for all aspects of financial operations, from accounting, finance, forecasting, and strategy to the preparation of financial reports. The Corporate Controller will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company. Working closely with the President and COO, the Controller will ensure that the company's financial functions support the growing demands of its operations and align with the organization’s goals and projections.

 

This position is required to be on-site in Clermont, FL office and will require some travel to Laguna Hills, CA office throughout the year.


Responsibilities: 

·      Compile, analyze and present financials to the executive team and/or board

·       Implement and execute financial objectives and strategies that support and align with organizational goals & priorities

·    Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

·    Develop, implement and oversee financial strategies across the organization, in partnership with the leadership team.

·    Compile, analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all segments and oversee all financial project/program and accounting.

·     Build comprehensive financial models and provide forecasts, analytics, and insights to guide decision-making for Macarthur Group and its subsidiaries

·    Streamline operations to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Manage the daily financial operations within the company, including payroll, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.

·    Plan, organize, implement, and execute MacArthur Group insurance portfolio

·    Support Macarthur Group Human Resources with oversight on daily, weekly, and monthly operations including payroll, taxes, and corporate accounts

·     Assess and manage financial risks and practice risk mitigation; provide guidance for other key leaders in risk management

·     Oversee all accounting, banking, budgeting, and financial & tax reporting; provide financial support for payroll and Human Resources requirements.

·       Oversee daily operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations; ensure timely payments to vendors and partners

·     Develop and maintain a robust cash flow management strategy and ensure that the cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

·     Monitor financial performance and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement and cost savings, reporting findings and trends regularly at executive meetings

·       Lead the annual budgeting and planning process, to include providing budgeting training and guidance as necessary to organizational leaders and decision makers; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate

·       Maintain healthy relationships with partners and vendors and negotiate financial agreements (as needed)

·    Support the President in engaging the board's audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery. Prepare all financial materials for board meetings and investor communications.

·     Ensure accountability and transparency in financial reporting practices

·     Lead and oversee a high-level finance team and provide mentorship and developmental growth to all organizational staff members; Foster a healthy culture of collaboration between finance and all other departments within parent company and subsidiaries

·     Collaborate with external stakeholders, investors, and partners

·    Supervise a staff accountant and potentially grow the team as business needs increase. Foster a collaborative working environment, enhance professional development, and contribute to the recruitment and retention of finance staff.

·     Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications: 

 

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred

·        Minimum of 10 years of accounting and financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role at mid-size or large-size company

·        Extensive experience in financial management and accounting, preferably with healthcare and/or behavioral health industry experience

·        Exceptional analytical and abstract reasoning skills; excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model

·        Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills and willingness to share information with appropriate parties

·        Experience with corporate governance and proficiency in managing financial reporting for complex nonprofit with multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) contracts
