Reports To: CFO

Supervises: Finance Team members, as determined by CFO

Location: So. Burlington, VT

Summary: The role encompasses day-to-day finance operations, active involvement with month-end activities and global reporting requirements. The Controller will work with the global finance team to support various standard and specialized reporting and data initiatives as needed. Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, this role will perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses for global entities. This role requires someone who is detail oriented, has good verbal communication skills, is a quick learner and is highly organized.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Review monthly management reporting packs prepared by Senior Accountants
  
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  
• Assist with actual performance versus budget/forecast analysis and report key variances and trends
  
• Management of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, & banking process including ensuring vendor/client communication is managed, payments terms are controlled and procedures are followed
  
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are properly documented and followed
  
• Ensure all relevant accounting policies are being followed
  
• Assist with external audits and ensure deadlines are met
  
• Assist with various tax returns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  
• Proactively develop good working relationships with global finance team
  
• Assist with various system-related projects, including documentation of processes and controls
  
• Produce error-free accounting reports
  
• Management of any direct reports, as assigned
  
• Other duties (as determined) that will support the business and further develop your skill set

Requirements

• A minimum 10 years of experience in Finance and/or Corporate accounting roles, preferably for a software company and/or public company
  
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial/accounting principles and experience with foreign currency transactions
  
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  
• MBA/Accounting designation or working towards one is preferred
  
• ERP system experience and Sage Intacct experience preferred
  
• Adaptable team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve results
  
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  
• Strong analytical skills; able to collect, analyze and summarize data. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Pivot tables, v-lookups and formulas. Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
  
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, working accurately and proficiently in a deadline driven and fast-paced work environment. Excellent time management skills and success in consistently meeting deadlines
