Who are You at MacLellan?
As the Senior Accountant, you are a part of BEST PEOPLE, you are an integral part of our finance department in the Lexington office. You are responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing analysis and reporting to support business decisions. Using our BEST SYSTEMS you prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). You assist in training and development of accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment so the team produces the BEST RESULTS!
What are the skills necessary for success?
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong commitment to deadlines.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Coins, Great Plains) and advanced Excel skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What education and/or experience are needed for success?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role.
Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Experience in month end close, tax preparation and compliance and software implementation.
Experience with financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
