MACRO Industries, a leading aerospace and defense composites manufacturer, is seeking a Production Planner and Inventory Manager to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. The Production Planner and Inventory Manager leads the production planning efforts and supports our operations. This position will work with the Director of Supply Chain to establish the build schedule, manage inventory, and ensure fulfillment and distribution deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Creates production schedule ensuring on time delivery considering availability of machines, operators, and materials.
- Creates nesting plans and ensures efficient plans based on order dates.
- Coordinates between production and R&D to assign equipment availability.
- Works with production management, engineering, and quality to assure job order and customer shipment dates are met.
- Maintain KPI’s for actual scheduled production, percentage of defect, WIP and other pertinent metrics.
- Maintains inventory storage room while developing bin locations.
- Develops and maintains cycle count procedures.
- Creates and maintains min/max levels for manufacturing supplies.
- Notifies appropriate departments when material is available for the next stage.
- Addresses issues when they arise aiming for minimal disruption.
- Coordinates with the quality department to acquire/maintain supplier information and certifications.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.
Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience as production and inventory planner.
- Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning).
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing, purchasing and inventory control systems.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems with an emphasis on high level Excel skills.
- Excellent math and statistic capabilities.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing production procedures.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to respond to manufacturing issues.
This position is incentive eligible and will participate in an ESOP plan, in addition to the competitive base salary.
