Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled and experienced Lumber Mill Millwright. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment in our mill or lumber manufacturing facility. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our machinery, maximizing productivity, and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Experience in heavy equipment maintenance, electrical systems, and welding is required.
Wage: $28.00-$32.00/hour
Millwright Responsibilities:
• Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery and equipment according to specifications and blueprints.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify any mechanical issues or abnormalities, and perform preventive maintenance tasks to keep machinery in optimal condition.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems, and make necessary repairs or adjustments to restore equipment to proper working order.
• Perform heavy equipment maintenance, including inspecting, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
• Utilize electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motor controls, and circuits.
• Perform welding tasks to repair or fabricate equipment components and structures.
• Collaborate with other team members, such as machine operators and maintenance technicians, to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
• Perform routine lubrication of equipment and replace or replenish fluids as needed.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment condition, repairs performed, and parts used, in maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in millwright techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
Millwright Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in millwright or industrial maintenance is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Millwright or similar role in a lumber company, sawmill, or steel mill.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, power transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance, including inspection, repair, and component replacement.
• Electrical experience, including knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and circuits.
• Minimum of 2 years of welding experience, with proficiency in welding techniques to repair and fabricate equipment components and structures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolds as required.
