Plant Controller

Summary: The Plant Controller is responsible for the profitable operation of the Fresno plant operations providing effective management and overseeing our monthly financial procedures and support the Vice President of Finance in maintaining all our company financial functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform financial accounting activities, complying with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company corporate capital expenditure policy.
• Oversee the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly production reports in accordance with company standards, complying with approved corporate standard internal reporting requirements in the plant to ensure accurate information/clarity of the plant’s performance.
• Coordinate, develop, and maintain production costs analysis, including direct labor analysis, in coordination with the General Manager.
• Review and analyze inventory, yield, utility usage, labor, and margin reports.
• Provide recommendations regarding cost-saving strategies and ways to improve processes in achieving company standards and continuously improving costs.
• Assist plant management on various departmental initiatives, while supporting the monthly accurate and timely submission and reporting of the operational and financial reports for the plant, ensuring ongoing analysis and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Support plant management in the analysis of variances between actual costs occurring at the plant and standard costs, and the impact of variances on the plant’s financial performance and real-time inventory.
• Provide operational/financial guidance to senior management on a monthly (or more frequent, as needed) basis.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Deep experience as an accountant, assistant controller / controller, or in a similar role.
• Food production and/or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience with an increasing level of responsibility.
• Experience with QuickBooks, as well as experience working with ERP systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience with financial statements, general ledger functions and month-end/year end close process.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
