OVERVIEW
The Director of Rooms reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our team members by managing the Guest Services and Housekeeping, as well as overseeing all guest experiences in that department, and managing all staff and leaders in these departments while adhering to Forbes five star and Auberge Service standards. The Director of Rooms is responsible to bring our guest journey to life, to maximize guest satisfaction, and profitability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee day-to-day hotel operations within the Front Desk, Bellman/Valet, Night Auditors, Housekeeping, and Adventure Guides.

Participate in the development of short and long-term financial and operational plans for the hotel which support the overall objectives of the Company

Assist Director of Operations with the monitoring of the performance of the hotel through verification, maintenance, and analysis of OPERA, Unifocus, EES and financial reports

Work directly with our sales, marketing, reservations and revenue management teams to deploy tactical strategies to maximize world class performance in these areas.

Create an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction by completing audits of rooms, common areas, guest journey, design and operating standards.

Maintain product and service standards in line with Madeline / Auberge expectations by conducting ongoing evaluations, investigating and resolving complaints.

Hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recognizing, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Understanding the government regulations affecting hotel’s operations, ensuring the hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority

Ensuring good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures

Coach colleagues to ensure proper handling of guest complaints from start to finish

Supervises and motivates designated employees

Act as a business partner to the finance team and an operational partner to the engineering team.

Work as an active member of the management team. Creating professional relationships and active involvement with all hotel operations, including but not limited to; daily, and weekly management meetings, and support to all team members, including Manager on Duty Shifts
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Required
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or equivalent experience
-
Five years’ operating experience in a hotel rooms department.

Familiar with the operations and priorities of all other hotel operating departments.

Experience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations
-
Experience completing administrative tasks, to include, reporting, budgeting, project management, etc
-
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
