We are looking for a seasoned Asset Director to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The Asset Director is responsible to lead and manage a division of the Terminal Asset program, ensuring the shop equipment and facilities operate at their optimum level of safety, reliability, availability & efficiency. Implement and maintain equipment maintenance strategies based on Global Asset Maintenance requirements and local legislation, promote a culture that prioritizes timely interventions and proactive measures to minimize downtime and its impact on overall performance.

Key responsibilities:
Health Safety & Environmental
Always consider safety of personnel and assets
Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and procedures, enforcing safe working practices and promoting a safe workplace.
Contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture within APMT operations.
Promote the delivery of continuous improvement and constant drive towards incident free operations and reducing unplanned equipment outages by reporting discrepancies in maintenance procedures and guidelines.
Performance/Operational
Transform the defined strategy into tangible annual plans and coinciding maintenance cycles and plans. Take ownership of the adoption of CMMS. Ensure full accountability for developing fit for-purpose maintenance plans aligned with operational needs and best practices
Provide leadership and strategy to the Planning and Execution Managers and their specialists as well as your own specialists
Define and track performance through global and local KPIs and targets whilst reporting and analyzing deviations from targets, developing improvement actions where necessary
Secure the ability to deploy the machinery, procedures and workforce needed to support maintenance of the assets.
Strategy
Support and manage the 5-year Asset Maintenance plan for your specified equipment.
Contribute to global maintenance strategies, considering local regulations and requirements.
Conduct medium to long-term planning for budgeting, asset refurbishment, and disposal to maintain asset integrity and meet operational goals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, drive the team towards more structured, proactive maintenance practices that enhance operational efficiency and long-term performance
Asset Integrity
Responsible for the integrity of all terminal assets, facilities and infrastructure
Ensure inspections, surveys and audits are performed as required on all assets.
Ensure all operational and technical risks are identified, reviewed and suitable mitigations are put in place
Resource Management
Identify Asset Maintenance resource requirements for the next 5 years, aligned with operational and commercial forecasts
Responsible for securing the right maintenance plans to support both Asset Maintenance Planning and Execution management and efficiently deploy the equipment, procedures human resources and inventory necessary to accomplish local operational plans
People/Communications
Build a strong team by attracting and retaining talent
Create and sustain an environment that is supportive of learning, training and development, whilst facilitating open dialogue and communications so that terminal operations and activities can run effectively and efficiently.
Provide leadership and strategy to Planning and Execution Managers and their specialists as well as your own specialists.
Cost Management
Monitor and support local budgets, developing necessary business cases and technical equipment reports.
Assist in managing the Maintenance & Repair Department budget in alignment with APMT business strategy.
Who we are looking for:
Minimum university degree in engineering or relevant field
Requires five years' experience leading maintenance and repair departments
Requires excellent organization skills, including planning, directing and monitoring activities
Requires "walk the shop floor" approach to problem solving
Experience in productivity optimization through process optimization
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the local organization
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to consider complex and ambiguous situations objectively, whilst applying full consideration of causes, implications on business and stakeholders
Fluent in English
Knowledge of local Safety, Health and Environment workplace regulations
Strong knowledge in computer skills and professional programs (i.e.: Microsoft Office, Database, EPR/CMMS systems)

Salary: USD 150,000.00 - USD 220,000.00

The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
