What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHB Compliance Manager position at Maersk?
We are looking for a CHB Compliance Manager to join our Customs House Brokerage Team, this position will remote.
The CHB Compliance Manager will provide support to Maersk’s Compliance Department and Operations teams to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations. The candidate will have the Customs compliance experience and technical skill sets required to assist with daily trade compliance operations, work with internal and external customers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Maersk’s compliance program.

Key responsibilities
- Harmonized Tariff System classification researching binding rulings, Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, and technical information
- Conducting entry audits to ensure compliance by reviewing classification, valuation, country of origin and preferential trade programs, and identifying any corrections needed through post entry
- Performing compliance reviews of importer programs to ensure all regulatory requirements are met, and developing solutions for identified compliance deficiencies
- Interpreting and applying complex government regulations in actionable activities as appropriate
- Post entry functions including entry correction, PSC transmission, monitoring of liquidation, preparation and submission of protests
- Participating in cross-functional projects relating to trade compliance such as training
- Other duties as assigned
We are looking for
- Licensed Customs Broker/Certified Customs Specialist preferred
- 4 year college degree required
- 3-5 years’ experience working for a Customs broker or importer with an emphasis on compliance
- Significant HTS classification expertise
- Knowledge of Customs Regulations, tariff preference programs
