Senior Design Engineer, Design Studio

Job Duties:
- Convert designs/concepts into engineered, manufacturable 3d files (based on the requirements of the manufacturing processes selected and other variables): prepare engineering analysis of projects to include preliminary design, cost and manufacturing process selection
- Prepare and interpret CAD 3D drawings, 2D schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids
- Perform mechanical/design engineering duties surrounding the following: Injection molded components, IBM and EBM products, thermoformed products, technical paper products, materials/ resins, automated manufacturing equipment, other manufacturing processes needed to produce the accepted design, all forms of post-production decoration (silkscreen, pad printing, foil stamping, vacuum metalizing, electroplating, etc.)
- Manage product development projects and consult with the overseas engineering team
- Review and analyze testing data and provide feedback to ensure process capability
- Perform GD&T /Product validation including drop test, vibration test, stress, analysis, compatibility test and vacuum temperature testing
- Manage construction of prototypes/3D printed models
- Manage project issues, budgets, and schedules with project management
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices
- Coordinate the activities of the design and construction/production teams
Education Required:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, Design Engineering, or related
Experience Required:
- 1 year in job offered or related, including 1 year in 3D CAD software, Solidworks, and international supplier management/quality control
