Network / Computer Systems Administrator (Journeyman)

Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is bidding on a contract which supports the Department of the Navy’s Integrated Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence (IC2&I) Division with research, planning, design, engineering, prototype development, software development, integration, testing, and specified technology solutions.

We are hiring for a  Network / Computer Systems Administrator (Journeyman) to Install, configure, and maintain an organization's LAN, WAN, data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers.

The majority of the positions will work in the Patuxent River / St. Inigoes, Maryland region but a few positions will work out of:

• Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA.
• Beale Air Force Base in Beale, CA.
• Keyport, WA.
• Osan U.S. Air Force Base, South Korea.
• Camp Smith, Oahu, Hawaii
• Colorado Springs, CO.           

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems.
• Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.
• Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.
• Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

Requirements

The position is contingent upon candidate’s ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; thereby, in accordance with Federal Requirements, medical requirements include but are not limited to full COVID-19 vaccination status by 4 January 2022, except in limited circumstances where a candidate is legally entitled to an accommodation – proof of vaccination is required.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

• 3 years of Direct Experience working as a Network / Computer Systems Administrator with the coordinated Bachelor’s Degree detailed below
• At least 1 year of the 3 years of experience must be while performing Network / Computer Systems Administrator functions on DoD/IC communication systems or networks.

Education / Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Engineering or engineering discipline; Computer science or IT discipline; Technical discipline
• OR
• In Lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 7 total years’ of experience working as a Network / Computer Systems Administrator is required WITH an Associate’s Degree
• OR
• Candidates maintaining NO degree can be considered if they have in total 9 years’ of work experience as a Network / Computer Systems Administrator

Clearance:

• SECRET AS OF NOW BUT MIGHT REQUIRE TOP SECRET/SCI - CURRENT/ACTIVE (SCI – Eligible) IN THE FUTURE
