What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver Pipeliner USW, Kansas City position at Magellan Midstream Partners?
Individuals selected for this position must pass the Department of Transportation Regulation regarding truck drivers within 30 days after reporting into the job.
Physical demands include: walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and wearing personal protective equipment. Working conditions include frequently working outside with occasional exposure to extreme heat and/or cold.
Potential Travel requirements 26-75%
Operate medium-weight duty to full-sized double-axle trucks; load and unload materials; operate winch, vacuum trailer, and other auxiliary truck equipment.
Provide labor, inspection, and project management support on various pipeline integrity and facility maintenance projects.
Perform Damage Prevention and One Call activities including but not limited to pipeline and utility locating, marking, mapping, and meeting and presenting to community stakeholders
Provide assistance to other crew members, welders, and other Company personnel as needed.
Adapt to constantly changing tasks and assignments in a variety of environmental conditions on a system that operates 24/7/365.
Demonstrate ability to accurately and safely complete tasks according to the Code of Federal Regulations Part 195 Transportation of Hazardous Liquids by Pipeline and Company Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan and System Integrity Plan (SIP).

Department of Transportation CDL license with HazMat endorsement regarding truck drivers within 30 days after reporting into the job. Current CDL preferred.
1) Previous pipeline experience or related industry.
2) Degree from a technical school preferred with an emphasis in Land Survey, Geographic Information Systems, or Non-Destructive Testing is preferred.
3) Develop a working knowledge of Magellan Pipeline Company procedures regarding pipeline integrity and maintenance within 180 days.
4) Must be qualified in specific tasks according to the Company's Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan.
This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's education and experience.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and the union bidding process applies. Union posting guidelines outlined in the current collective bargaining agreement will be applied prior to considering external candidates.

The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co-workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company's intranet; availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis; and the ability to work at the assigned job site.
