Group Description

Role Summary
This individual constructs, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on injection molds using prints and sketches as required. Also performs machining and assembly of prototypes, tools, fixtures and gauges. Generates and prepares design ideas for engineering and sales to show function, continuity, dimensional accuracy, and manufacturing techniques for short and long-term projects. Maintains product design tools and equipment. Remains technically current and may research and recommend new materials. Interfaces with internal and external contacts. Purchases supplies as needed. Performs other duties as needed. Key Responsibilities Cont. Routinely contacts suppliers or manufacturers and suppliers on mold information, repair issues, improvement needs and shipping instructions. Influences mold design by providing input on the design of vents, cores, gates and gate placement to engineering. Installs service electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics associated with mold repairs. Assists other team members in meeting department requirements. Serves as a resource to production, engineering and other plant personnel. Maintains and improves knowledge and skill requirements in all required trade areas. Maintains user knowledge of tools, testing equipment, measuring instruments, conveyance and material handling equipment. Operates company vehicles, conveyance and material handling equipment. Completes appropriate paperwork, mold documentation and maintenance records. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Detail oriented. Key Qualifications/Requirements
Associate’s degree or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of related experience in CNC programming and operating knowledge, preferred. Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship program certified by the U.S. Department of Labor. Experience in automotive industry strongly preferred. Journeyman Card, required
Requires bending, heavy lifting, reaching, working in cramped and confined spaces.
