What you will be doing:
- Execute daily/weekly process to review and maintain MRP suggested inventory levels.
- Maintain data integrity and accuracy for purchased parts in the ERP system.
- Search for suppliers with better quality and/or lower costs for existing parts and services.
- Negotiate best price, quality, lead time and service from suppliers.
- Generate and follow up on purchase orders until invoiced and closed.
- Take immediate action to resolve or avoid issues which could impede production or have a negative financial impact.
- Participate in the MAGNAFLOW supplier management program.
- Visit suppliers to develop business relationships and seek opportunities to benefit MAGNAFLOW.
- Provide timely and efficient materials planning.
- Maintain metrics and generate reports as needed.
- Analyze and implement MRP/MPS to publish a weekly production schedule.
- Monitor weekly production schedules and operations schedule adherence.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of finished goods and subassemblies to support a >95% fill rate to customers, both internal and external.
- Collaborate with Production managers and Supervisors to optimize shop orders flow and improve efficiency metrics.
- Monitor, and maintain appropriate PPV levels.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) but applicable work experience will be considered.
- Over 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Over 5 years’ experience in SUPPLY CHAIN in a Buyer role.
- Competency and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Previous global sourcing experience preferred.
- Strong and independent organizational, analytical, detailed planning and project management sk
- Competency with Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Basic understanding of supply chain supply and demand concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: speaking, writing, and listening.
- Articulate and persuasive; ability to communicate difficult and complex matters in a straightforward, transparent manner.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to sit and stand intermittently, use a keyboard, climb stairs occasionally, and lift up to 25 pounds with or without accommodations.
