About the role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop detailed production work instructions to support production build activities
- Create manufacturing planning, work orders, job routers / travelers
- Create and manage the manufacturing bill of materials in the ERP system
- Manage and implement an MES system
- Support managing the item master data in the ERP system
- Support development of a Lean manufacturing line and workflow
- Perform manufacturing capability analysis and generate tact time data that feeds into program planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar
- 5-7 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer (or similar role) in electric motors, aerospace, manufacturing, or related similar industry
- Knowledge of SAP or other similar ERP systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing assembly lines and work cells
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, APQP, SPC and NPI
- Experience creating work instructions, work orders, and jobs travelers for the shop floor
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, and quality management systems (AS9100, ISO9001, etc.)
- Familiarity with FAA regulatory environments
- Commitment to environmental health & safety standards and environmental regulations
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
