Magnolia Project is a North-Bay non-profit organization that partners with schools/districts to build high-impact Career Exploration and Apprenticeship Pathways that re-engage students in school, ignite their passions, and help them plan for their post-high school Meaningful Next Phase, all embedded into the school day. Our students are the dreamers, doers, and decision-makers in their CTE experience. We believe every student deserves access to compelling, relevant learning experiences enabling them to pursue their Meaningful Next Phase upon high school graduation. In the 2024-2025 school year, we anticipate serving 400 students across 10 middle and high schools throughout the North Bay region in California.
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and competent Community Engagement Manager to lead our work recruiting training and vetting business mentors and partners throughout the North Bay. This position is designed for someone with experience recruiting volunteers, building and maintaining partnerships, particularly in the field of education or non-profit organizations. The ideal candidate has experience in recruiting volunteers, community engagement and partnership development in education. The ideal candidate also must be a strong oral and written communicator in English, a dynamic, assertive public speaker, who is unafraid to get out into the community and build Magnolia Project’s brand.
Responsibilities of the Community Engagement Manager include
- Lead the Recruitment and Retention of Industry Partners to Host Students for Career Explorations, Apprenticeship Experiences, and Meaningful Next Phase Programs
- Facilitate the vetting, background check, and mentor training process for all prospective mentors
- Build out comprehensive mentor training program using Magnolia Project’s online platform for mentors in the Career Exploration and Apprenticeship Program
- Recruit and train 300 new mentors across 2 counties for the 2024-2025 school year
- Serve as the direct point of contact for all prospective industry partners and business partners
- Manage Magnolia Project’s current database of 150 different business mentors throughout the North Bay, including relationships with these businesses and
- Build partnerships with 15 different post-secondary programs (colleges, trade schools) and 15 local employers as part of Magnolia Project’s Meaningful Next Phase secondary support program
Business and Brand Development:
- Assist with business development and marketing of Magnolia Project’s Pathways Programs
- Develop marketing materials and campaigns to recruit new mentors throughout the North Bay to participate in Magnolia Project’s programs
- Write bi-weekly Industry Newsletter to industry partners throughout the community
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a strong written communicator in English
- 2-3 years of volunteer recruitment, community outreach and community engagement experience, especially in the context of a school or non-profit organization.
- Strong oral and written communicator in English: must be willing to submit writing samples.
- Strong public speaking skills
- Intrinsically motivated self-starter
- Graphic design and art skills are preferred but not required
- B.A./B.S. is preferred but not required. If no B.A./B.S., candidate must be able to read and write at the level of a college graduate, and must submit writing samples and take a writing test to qualify for the position.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be a strong oral and written communicator,
- Must feel comfortable with public speaking, volunteer recruitment, and being an ambassador of Magnolia Project to the community
- A deep understanding of the Magnolia Project curriculum, platform, and program model, and the purpose of our program within a student’s larger educational journey
- Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter, who can adjust to the fast-paced environment of an emerging non-profit organization
- Must demonstrate qualities of emotional maturity and start-up mindset
Salary:
- $65,000-$72,000.00 based on experience
