Brief Description

This position is for 3rd shift (Graveyard)

Job Summary/Purpose

Works under limited supervision and according to established federal & state regulations and Company prescribed work procedures and safety policies; Operates all packaging equipment and forklift; Performs other duties related to loading and shipping to accomplish a safe and efficient operation; Maintains good housekeeping practices; Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

Starts up machinery, including but not limited to pumps, screws, and pneumatic blowers to transfer material from storage silos to packaging vessels.
Ensures proper connections are made to obtain required product from the proper storage vessel.
Operates all packaging machines in safe and efficient manner.
Ensures that the proper stenciling/labeling has been marked on the packages.
Removes bags from the conveying system and stacks and/or palletizes if necessary.
Operates the forklift to move or stack pallets and palletized units.
Keeps area(s) clean of spills and broken bags. Cleans assigned area(s) on a routine basis.
Accurately completes all necessary documentation as required.
Inspects shipping containers before and after loading and loads to the proper limit.
Takes samples as required and in the manner prescribed.
Seals all hatches and gates after loading.
Completes daily loading sheets and all required documentation.
Wears specified protective clothing and equipment, including, but not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots; and follows prescribed safety policies and procedures.
May be required to instruct or assist in the instruction or training of others; take additional training as necessary; and/or assist with the installation, relocation and testing of equipment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous packaging and/or warehouse experience and plus.
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and listening comprehension.
Possesses a general working knowledge of computer operation and demonstrates ability to perform basic computer functions.
Ability to work effectively as a team player.
SPECIFIC ASPECTS
Occasional climbing of ladders and stairs.
Frequent standing, walking and sitting for long periods of time.
Exposure to weather elements.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb.
