What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Server position at Main St. Cafe?
We are a family owned and operated restaurant that has been serving the community since 1972.
What we are looking for:
You’re the guest’s connection to the diner. Sure, you take food orders and keep drinks filled - but that’s only the beginning. You make our guests’ meals and their time here as perfect as possible - so they can sit back and enjoy a moment to relax without any worries at all. Which means you’re also an advisor. A mind-reader. A friendly ear. And sometimes, simply a compassionate and friendly conversationalist.
So yes, your title is server/bartender - but feeding people goes far beyond taking orders and bringing meals to our guests. It’s about taking care of people. And that’s exactly what you do.
A Main Street Cafe Sever has a “Guests First" attitude, responding to guests and coworkers in a timely, courteous, and respectful way while:
- Greeting and seating guests.
- Taking orders and delivering great food.
- Suggesting new menu items like our limited time offerings or flavored coffees.
- Receiving payment for the Cashier and making correct change.
- Willingly assisting team members without being asked.
- Helping to keep our restaurants clean, completing side work, and organizing supplies as needed.
- Providing total guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Monitor alcohol consumption and prevent over-intoxication
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash registers
- Strong math skills for accurately calculating bills and making change
- Hospitality and customer service skills to provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Basic knowledge of brewing techniques and cocktail recipes
- Familiarity with catering or restaurant operations is a plus
- Ability to handle retail math calculations for inventory management
If you have a passion for mixology, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent customer service skills, we would love to hear from you!
