Position Summary

The Clinical Educator is a member of the Clinical Education Team and participates in the planning, implementing and evaluation of education opportunities, including orientation and annual competencies throughout the organization to include the outpatient practices. Works closely with clinical management and serves as a role model while providing leadership needed to educate and implement evidence based practice for our patients safety and wellbeing. Utilizes instructional techniques and learning principles to assess learning needs, implement job aides, performance criteria and interactive practical experiences to support staff development based on identified educational needs. Serves as an alternative member of the MaineHealth Nursing Education

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Degree in Nursing β Bachelors preferred.

License/Certifications: Active nursing licence. Current BLS certification.

Experience: Demonstrated clinical expertise in patient care as normally acquired through a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience. Previous experience as a staff development educator preferred.

High level of interpersonal and leadership skills

Knowledge of educational development and design in order to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of educational offerings from a variety of practice settings.
