Summary
Position Summary
The patient service representative (PSR) will greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and perform other overall general office duties as assigned. The PSR will also collect, verify, enter, and monitor patient data while complying with the federal, state and MaineHealth confidentiality policies.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- Education: High School graduate preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: At least two years’ experience in a related field preferred. Prior patient account experience is preferred.
- Ability to use personal computer for on-line data entry required, with understanding of Worker's Knowledge of medical office procedures helpful.
- Compensation policies and procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills required, with an ability to interact with patients and others, both in person and over the telephone, in a courteous, tactful and effective manner.
- Customer service training a plus.
- Must be familiar with medical terminology used in an individual physician practice setting.
- Typing, faxing, copier and computer skills required.
