General Statement of Job:
The Maintenance Technician I maintains school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and
productive use of all district facilities. To accomplish these tasks the Maintenance Technician I must
work closely with the staff and administration of Lexington City Schools This job reports to the
Supervisor of Maintenance.
Essential Functions:
? Provide maintenance support to schools within the district
? Perform basic repairs to facilities and equipment as needed
? Assist with upkeep of grounds when assigned
? Assemble furniture
? Move furniture between buildings and offices
? Assist with plumbing, painting and general carpentry
? Installs bulletin boards and dry erase boards as needed
? Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent the disruption of schools
? Perform additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
? Operate and care for power equipment and hand tools
? Performs work assigned by work orders
? Performs all repairs in a professional and timely manner
Minimum Qualifications:
? High School Diploma or its equivalent
? Knowledge of general maintenance
? General knowledge in basic carpentry, plumbing is preferred
? Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks given
Physical Requirements:
? This work is considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force
? Employees in this position are required to work in all kinds of weather conditions
? Must be able to perform under stressful conditions
