What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Specialist position at Makom?
We are looking for a Behavior Specialist to join our team and help meet the goal of serving our community. The Behavior Specialist's principal function will be reviewing and evaluating for efficacy and impact behavioral related services delivered by Makom staff, and will bring expertise to the organization’s transition to and development of clinical service structure. While the Behavior Specialist is primarily internally facing, s/he is expected to work as part of multi- and interdisciplinary teams in support of the holistic health needs of people Makom supports. Makom will depend on YOU for the support of its most precious assets: Its employees.
If you have:
- Ability to communicate effectively to Individuals supported, leadership, peers, staff, and external constituencies
- Proven experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Billing functions (broadly), and similar; ability to teach and train staff at all levels.
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Applied Behavioral Analysis.
- 3 Years of experience in similar roles.
- Technical knowledge in areas of behavior plan development (with a demonstrable understanding of social determinants of mental/behavioral health, intersectionality, and diagnostic overshadowing).
