The Board Records division is part of the Finance Department that prepares meeting minutes for the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners and their advisory boards. The Board Records Department makes meeting records available for review by the public. These records include Ordinances, Resolutions, Contracts or other items submitted in a meeting. Board Records division also creates and manages Tax Deed cases and Value Adjustment Board Petitions. The Clerk I/Board Records position is a full-time, non-supervisory position with mandatory overtime reporting to the Supervisor of Board Records.
- High School diploma or GED
- Candidates experienced in taking minutes, attending board meetings and with knowledge of Parliamentary Rules of Procedure are preferred
- One year of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment
- Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills are required
- Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license
- Once qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions

- Ensures proper preparation for all assigned meetings, hearings and work sessions
- Prepares accurate minutes reflecting the actions and directives taken.
- Executes Board Clerk duties at all assignments and takes appropriate post-meeting actions
- Develops a working knowledge of Resolutions, Ordinances and Florida Statutes governing public records and a general knowledge of County operations and other information related to various board meetings
- Maintains files and coordinates tax deed sales
- Schedules and maintains records of petitions to the Value Adjustment Board
- Participates in division cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned division work
