The Opportunity
The HR Generalist will partner with the HR Department and the Strategic Growth Department to develop and implement human resources programs to build and support the objectives and policies of the firm. This position will be involved in all aspects of HR including policy interpretation and compliance, performance management, recruiting, employee relations and HR reporting.
Responsibilities
General HR
- Provide expertise in regard to company policies, benefits, and employee handbook
- Facilitates orientation meetings
- Ensures compliance for all labor law posters and other compliance materials
- Responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance for the firm’s Harassment Training
- Conducts exit interviews with Business Professionals and conducts data analysis from these interviews
- Assists with the employee performance review process
- Partners with Director of Human Resources on Separation Agreements
- Administration of firm policies and programs
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of all Human Resources forms
- Provides general assistance to HR department
- Cross trained with the HR Coordinator
- Generates reports on a as needed basis
- Manages special projects as assigned
Recruiting
- Involved in Business Professional Staff Recruitment including talent sourcing, candidate evaluation and screening up to and including extending offers
- Assists in maintaining the applicant tracking system
- Assists in administering the AAP plan
- Provide assistance with references
- Writes and maintains job descriptions with Director of Human Resources
- Assists with new hire orientation for staff and attorney as needed
Employee Relations
- Conducts and makes recommendations regarding investigations on employee issues.
- Manage Employee Relations and Performance Management in a way that supports a great culture and reinforces strong performers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience with emphasis in general HR administration, recruiting and employee relations
- Bachelor’s Degree and/orPHR, SHRM-CP or SPHR, SHRM-SCP certification a plus
- Knowledge or exposure to ADP and Workday highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR practices,federal and state employment laws, as well as wage and hour regulations
- Must have strong knowledge/ experience administering an Affirmative Action Plan for Government Contractors
- Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently
- Effectively balances priorities
- Develops effective working relationships at all levels
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of the firm
- Easily adapts to change
- Effectively handles difficult situations and performs well under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel Skills
