What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Mancan?
A Predominant Uhrichsville Company is searching for an Assistant Accountant. This will be a dayshift position with hours of either 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm. Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and have Intermediate or Proficient Microsoft Office skills. Job duties will include but are not limited to:
Core accountabilities
1. Month-end closing - Assist with month-end closing procedures. Prepare journal entries to ensure expenses are properly recorded each month. Assist Sr. Accountants and Controller as needed in preparation of journal entries and review of expenses.
2. Balance Sheet accuracy - Budgeting and Forecasting – research and establish trends of major expenditures for more accurate budgeting and forecasting
3. Inventory – Support the accurate valuation of inventory by assisting with cycle counts, performing fixed asset audits and stores inventory audits
4. Assist in tracking key performance metrics for the site
5. Learn and Understand Non-Metal Procure to Pay process to assist with preparation of purchase requisitions, resolve PO/Invoice issues, make receipt transactions.
6. Research and resolve items on the PO Problem Listing and the Invoices on Hold Listing, coordinating with the Requestor, Procurement, Receiving, and Accounts Payable, as needed.
7. Investigate Aged Received Not Vouchered (RNV) items to determine correct resolution for both metal and non-metal items.
8. Track Various service type purchase orders to determine month-end accruals needed.
9. Assist with Capital Project and other large expenditure tracking, such as preparing detailed reports for project managers, printing invoices for capital project files, compliance to requested amounts for non-metal.
10. Other ad-hoc tasks and requests as identified daily by the Finance/Accounting team.
The pay rate will be based on experience between $20-$25/hr. Resumes are required for consideration.
