CNC Operator

CNC Operator needed in Willoughby on 1st shift working Monday-Friday. Pay is based on experience starting at $15 and up.

Position Overview :

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of CNC machinery operation, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities :

• Machine Setup : Install and adjust cutting tools and machine parts. Calibrate machine settings based on material properties and dimensions of the parts to be produced.
• Programming : Input or upload pre-set programs or manually program CNC machines based on the specifications of the project.

Adjust programming based on any issues encountered during production.

• Operation : Operate CNC machinery to produce parts while adhering to quality standards and production timelines. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.
• Quality Control : Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications, using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Make necessary adjustments to machine output based on feedback from quality control.

• Maintenance : Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication. Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and perform repairs or report them to supervisors.
• Record-Keeping : Maintain detailed records of operations, including materials used, production times, and any deviations from standard procedures.
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to workplace safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

Skills and Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC operation or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC Operator or relevant role.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and programming.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy machinery and work on feet for extended periods.

Working Conditions :

The CNC Operator role involves working in a manufacturing or workshop environment, which may be noisy and contain hazards.

The operator must be willing to wear protective gear and comply with safety standards.

Career Path :

With experience and further education, a CNC Operator can advance to roles such as CNC Programmer, Production Supervisor, or into managerial positions within the manufacturing sector.
