Mancan is working with a company in Holmesville seeking a CNC programmer. This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate based upon attitude, attendance, and performance. Pay is based upon experience. Hours are 7 am - 3:30 pm.
The CNC Setup Technician plays a critical role in our manufacturing operations by setting up and preparing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, specifically Haas and Okuma, for production runs. This role requires a skilled and experienced individual with knowledge of CNC machinery and the ability to configure and calibrate these machines to produce high-quality parts and components.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Machine Setup:** Configure, set up, and prepare CNC machines, including Haas and Okuma, for production runs. This involves loading the necessary tools, workpieces, and programming the machine to meet specific job requirements.
Tool Selection: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, and fixtures based on job specifications, and make tool offset adjustments as needed for precision machining.
Programming: Interpret and edit CNC programs to ensure correct toolpaths, speeds, and feeds. Troubleshoot and make programming adjustments as necessary to optimize machine performance.
Calibration and Testing: Verify and calibrate machine settings, such as tool offsets, workpiece alignment, and tool change sequences, to maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality output.
Quality Control: Perform in-process quality checks to monitor the production process and make adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and consistency.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance and address minor machine issues, performing troubleshooting to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Escalate complex issues to maintenance or engineering teams as required.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the safe operation and maintenance of CNC machines.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine setup procedures, adjustments, and production data.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in setting up and operating CNC machines, with a focus on Haas and Okuma equipment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and the ability to interpret and edit G-code and M-code.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to CNC machine operation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
