Job Title: Janitor
Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Janitor to uphold the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the assigned facility. This position involves a range of janitorial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Empty trash cans and replace garbage bags as needed.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
Dust and wipe down surfaces, such as desks, tables, windowsills, and equipment.
Clean and disinfect common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and break rooms.
Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet paper as required.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor or facilities management.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs
Follow safety protocols and ensure the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Comply with company policies and procedures, including security and safety guidelines.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments when needed.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with colleagues and building occupants.
Occasionally handle special cleaning projects or tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
Start time is: 3:15 PM every Wednesday afternoon for 4 to 4.5 hours More hours available if desired.
Pay Rate = $14.00 hour
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must have own car, A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, be able to pass background check and drug test.
Must have own telephone. Have good customer relations.
The applicant must be a full-time resident of the Athens, Ohio area.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Janitor, Cleaner, or similar role is a plus.
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices, including proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and scrubbers.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions for specific cleaning tasks.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects when necessary.
Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and building occupants.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required.
