What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Operator position at Mancan?
Mancan Temporary Employment Staffing Agency is hiring Machine Operators Lead for a local company. The person fulfilling this role is able to produce candles of the highest quality by operating one or more machines used in the production of candles and related products. This is for 3rd shift 10 pm to 6 am. Pay rate $18 -$20 depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Lead Machine Operator, daily tasks could consist of:
Coordinating the production schedule, material requirements, product quality, and staffing requirements for a specific production area. Managing a team that will report directly to you.
Safely operating the production lines in accordance with work instructions to produce quality products made within an established scheduled time frame.
Safely operating material handling equipment to keep the work area stocked with material and supplies needed for production or packing.
Essential Functions: Produces candles and related products using several processes including, but not limited to, pouring, extruding, pressing and dipping.
Measures, records and adjusts machines to maintain product consistency according to documented process and quality specifications. Records this data into the Root production tracking system.
Minimizes downtime and scrap, and makes recommendations on improving performance.
Performs pre-shift inspections and trouble-shoots machines and raw materials issues.
Performs machine/product changeovers including changing of dies, molds, wax blends, wick, blocks, fill heights and cutting blades.
Works and communicates with other functional and support departments as needed.
Able to work extended shifts and hours, including holidays and weekends, in order to meet business needs.
Keeps work area safe, clean and orderly.
Able to perform other tasks as assigned or needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read, write and preform basic math, 2 plus years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing/industrial operation and High school diploma or GD.
The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to: Stands 8 hours a day. Lifting and manual work generally limited to less than 25 lbs. maximum. Must be able to tolerate hot conditions, especially in the summer. Must be able to work overtime during the high-demand season
