Job Summary:
Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs sub-assemblies, modules and complete systems to the component level. Makes occasional decisions with defined procedures to solve problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives. Trains junior associates.
Essential Job Functions:
- Test and troubleshoot various electronics assemblies.
- Read test procedures and operate various test equipment. Read schematics.
- Use test equipment to troubleshoot electronics assemblies.
- Build test fixtures from schematics.
- Makes major decisions regarding sequence, methods and work priorities: receives minimal supervision.
- Performs final burn-in testing and functionality audits of assembled systems and units.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in group situations within the department.
- Ability and willingness to participate in, and contribute to, group problem identification and analysis activity.
- Ability and willingness to assist group members in performing job tasks or resolving related problems.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively between departments.
- Ability to provide guidance, training and technical assistance to new personnel in the group.
- Ability to recommend improvement in or enhance department/operational documentation, procedures and forms.
Equivalent Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Requires basic electronics training.
- Ability to read and interpret software listings, features, and schematics.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as electronics technician on products similar or same complexity as this company.
- Machine skills to use and apply test equipment
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Physically, the incumbent should be able to speak, hear and see well (either naturally or with correction); bend, stoop and sit; and coordinate movements of eyes, hands and fingers; use arms, hands and fingers fully including holding and inserting. Mentally, incumbent should be able to concentrate, conceptualize, learn, reason, solve and think with independent judgement.
