What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance position at Mann+Hummel?
Mann and Hummel is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to ensure machines and equipment are in good working order to reduce down time and meet customer needs.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
- Ensures all machine guards, interlocks and other safety devices are properly installed and maintained in good working order; follows established lockout procedures when working on equipment
- Adjusts or replaces machine parts as necessary to facilitate the repair and/or changeover of equipment to manufacture products
- Identifies sources of problems by observing mechanical devices/ listens for problems
- Reports all accidents, incidents, near misses, and potential hazards to supervision immediately
- Keeps working area in a clean and orderly condition according 5S principles
- Handles working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment to include machinery and support equipment
- Tests electrical currents or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
- Inspects and tests systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
- Safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment
- Trouble shoots mechanical and electrical faults: gearing, tool types, thread types, electrical motor and wiring schematics
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listens for problems
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area; practices safe work habits and escalates known safety concerns
- Conducts machine installs and repairs, maintenance and facilities repair
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate; Trade Certification or equivalent education and experience
- Experience working in Facility /Building; handling Electrical maintenance; Weld: (MIG / stick SMA)
- Knowledge and understanding of current National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Must have knowledge of acceptable maintenance procedures and understanding of occupational safety and health regulations
- Must possess problem solving skills to defined methodologies
- Journeyman Electrician License a plus
- Must be able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each task assignment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish a plus
- Applies advanced working knowledge and experience to independently improve maintenance techniques and operations
- Must follow prescribed safety rules and regulations
- Must be a steady reliable worker
- Must possess the ability to work on ladders or on aerial lifts
- Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures and safety policies
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
