Our client, an international aerospace company, is seeking a Sr R&D Engineer specializing in metallurgy, metal forming and deformation to join their team. As a Sr Engineer or metal SME for the company, you will be part of the R&D Team supporting global Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background combined with 8 years' experience of professional mechanical/metallurgical engineering in aerospace or a similar industry which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay: $150,000-$180,000K base DOE

Job Title: Sr R&D Engineer Metals

Pay: $150,000-$180,000K base DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert on metal forming processes for new products and upgrades for existing products within Manufacturing
- Working with internal engineering/manufacturing customers and external customers on new products
- Overseeing new product design, testing, etc. relative to deformation processes, metal requirements and equipment requirements
- Overseeing experiments and computer and numerical computer modeling
- Heavy reporting and statistical data analysis
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy or similar, PhD preferred
- 8 years' experience in deformation processing and metal forming for an aerospace, automotive or similar company or companies
- Strong experience with forging and rolling processes
- Experience with product development, testing, experiments, computer simulations, numerical modeling, mechanical engineering, etc.
- Strong computer skills including Solidworks or similar, Minitab, MathCad, Word, computer simulation software, numerical modeling software, Ansys or other analysis software, etc.
