We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Engineer to collaborate on cutting-edge projects involving the US Navy's Aegis destroyers, carriers, and AEGIS Ashore systems. This position is to serve as the Principal Assistant to the Aegis Fleet Readiness Major Program Manager and the Assistant Program Manager for IWS 1FR (Fleet Readiness). Responsibilities and Basis qualification include but are not limited to:
- Experience in Leadership and Technical roles onboard US Navy AEGIS Destroyers/Cruisers/AEGIS Ashore warfare system engineering.
- Experience related to the identification and analysis of complex systems engineering issues involving New Construction and modernization efforts for the US Navy AEGIS Fleet. Background in writing high level technical briefs and white papers evaluating Navy combat systems.
- Ability to take technical and strategic input and quickly develop a master level MS Power Point presentation communicating the appropriate message to a specific audience.
- Experience with combatant combat system software and hardware management and employment.
- Familiarity with DoD/DON Policies and Procedures related to systems engineering processes and acquisition and modernization of Navy combat systems.
- Familiarity with Mission Based Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, and U.S. Navy Combat Systems and Naval Operations.
- Assist with managing the MPM's and APM 's meeting schedules and ability to represent him/her at meetings.
- Assist the MPM and APM in planning of program resources (funding, personnel, etc.) for ship combat systems modernization.
- Experience with briefing senior Naval personnel
- Ability to track, process, produce and distribute deliverables and monitor comment status, collect, and analyze performance data.
- Participate in program management reviews and prepare and coordinate inputs for acquisition documentation, status reports, briefings, and information inquiries.
Minimum Requirements include:
- Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Senior Engineer must have:
A) an associate's degree in a technical field (this could include, but is not limited to: computer science, computer engineering, engineering, engineering management, information science, information systems management, information technology, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management and system engineering), with twenty (20) years of U.S. Navy Combat Systems experience, OR
B) a bachelor's degree in a technical field (this could include, but is not limited to: computer science, computer engineering, engineering, engineering management, information science, information systems management, information technology, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management and system engineering), with fifteen (15) years of relevant engineering experience (this could include, but is not limited to experience in DoD systems architectures, design, development, and test and evaluation; experience in concept definition, requirements definition and initial and detailed system design activities), OR
C) a master's degree in a technical field (this could include, but is not limited to: computer science, computer engineering, engineering, engineering management, information science, information systems management, information technology, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management and system engineering), with ten (10) years of relevant engineering experience (this could include, but is not limited to experience in DoD systems architectures, design, development, and test and evaluation; experience in concept definition, requirements definition and initial and detailed system design activities).
