The Manufacturing engineer Technical Trainer is responsible to coordinate, implement, support, and communicate training efforts under the guidance of Operations leadership. Working with all levels of staff to help create and conduct training and recertifications. Will also include support in developing processes and providing technical production support for the manufacture of HVAC centrifugal chillers. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with well-developed problem solving and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to lead teams, manage projects and influence others in a cross-functional environment.
Work arrangements: On-site (La Crosse, WI)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with managers to determine training needs then coordinate and schedule training in both production and office atmosphere
- Able to present material in a classroom or lab atmosphere to a group of individuals.
- Track and maintain accurate training records and requirements utilizing computerized and web-based systems
- Monitor employee performance and response to training
- Develop necessary training materials and tools with the BOS standard as guidance.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of all training initiatives and implement changes as necessary
- Utilize and train to training methods including TWI
- Support all functions of the business delivering value through training and communication
- Must be willing to learn subjects that are being trained such as to include brazing, welding, wiring, TLDP, PIV, lean, etc.
- Conduct line audits of New Certified employees to assure they can adapt to the process and are using the proper PPE required along with Weld quality, nitrogen, Leak detectors, etc.
- Establish, design, and deliver quality videos and presentations regarding safety, quality, technique, and trends used to train on new and existing processes, and update existing processes to OSHA standards.
- Conduct classroom orientation for new employees, and Plant tours.
- Provide technical support to production processes as needed to meet customer requirements (non-standard hours may be required). Processes include metal fabrication, machining, welding and assembly.
- Lead and participate on continuous improvement teams utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology to improve standard work of business processes from order to ship. Identify root cause solutions through use of standardize problem solving techniques to drive daily improvements in the factory. Perform various job duties as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum Requirements: ·
- Associate technical degree or related work experience in a technical or a manufacturing environment.
- Willing and able to work a variety of shifts and locations
- Interact with all levels of staffing
- Excellent communication skills
- Limited travel may be required
- Must be a high-energy self-starter, results-oriented proactive and able to work effectively with little supervision.
- High level of problem-solving skills
- Must have basic math skills, understanding of decimals and fractions for measurement.

Compensation
Base Pay Range: $58,500 - $123,000 / annually
