What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Admissions/Marketing position at Maple Manor Rehabilitation of Wayne?
Director of Admissions screens prospective residents for admission in a sub-acute skilled nursing rehab facility. Works with residents/families on the front end of the admission process to ensure an efficient admission process. The Director of Admissions closely work with Director of Nursing and reports to the facility Administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage the online referral source for potential and new admissions.
- Assist in coordinating the admission of each new resident, ensuring resident’s room is ready before they arrive and communicating with all departments to prepare for the new admission
- Conduct facility tours and ensure the interior of the facility is tour-ready and presents well to visitors at all times
- Review and explain to each new resident (and/or resident’s family) facility room rates, billing procedures, visitor/guest procedures
- Respond to all inquiries regarding admissions including callers, walk-ins, and visitors.
- Screen and coordinate admissions
- Review referrals frequently throughout the day as needed to ensure timely response to referral sources
- Complete clinical review to accept, deny, or request more information on each referral
- Possess a basic knowledge of insurance information and ability to distinguish between plans and payer sources
- Check financial eligibility of all referrals for payor source. Ideal candidate will have some familiarity with system tools such as AllScripts.
- Coordinate initial preadmission authorization as needed for managed care and other insurers. Document authorization information
- Complete required paperwork with the resident or resident’s agent prior to admission
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of Long Term Experience
- Must be knowledgeable of skilled nursing and long-term care
- Experience in Matrix Care and AllScripts Care Management
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrable teamwork skills
- Skill in accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of position
