What are the responsibilities and job description for the JIB Analyst Job position at Marathon Oil?
Responsibilities
* Review, analyze and understand components of billable costs including allocations, overhead and direct expense.
* Process adjustments due to JV audit exception resolutions, ownership updates and billing corrections.
* Execute SAP JIA close out processing for both domestic and international allocations.
* Apply COPAS guidance and JOA provisions to company specific transactions.
* Work closely with Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Operations, Land, Division Order and working interest owners to resolve disputes and/or respond to billing questions.
* Assist JV Audit in understanding and reviewing issues raised in audit exceptions.
* Assist the Law department with data requests and understanding billings for working interest owners, as requested.
* Respond to audit requests as necessary.
* Set up master data in Quorum related to various aspects of joint venture accounting for historical prior period adjustments. This includes Working Interest Ownership including Non-Consent or Farm-Out Ownership.
* Engage in the review and improvement of processes to achieve increased efficiency and further streamlined analysis and reporting procedures.
* Prepare monthly reports for Land and accounting management.
Eligibility
* Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
* Computer Proficiencies: SAP, Excel
* Work Experience: Five years or more of Joint Interest or additional Oil & Gas Accounting related experience preferred. COPAS knowledge preferred.
