This position works with Marco’s franchisees and other business partners on various related matters, and will also complete other responsibilities as assigned.

- Complete franchisee requests for documentation associated with financing, such as SBA forms, bank subordination agreements, and copies of franchise documentation. Liaison with contract team on lender-requested changes to documentation.
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements on all franchises; monitor and process renewal/transfer UCC filings and other related tasks.
- Monitor all company-managed store leases. Communicate key deadlines, assist Corporate Counsel in preparation and execution of related renewal/assignment documents, and update database accordingly.
- Manage franchise lease compliance process, including preparing site approval letters and ultimate collection of executed leases with approved Marco’s Lease Riders for all locations. Monitor lease expiration dates and liaise with franchisees to complete renewals and update database accordingly. Notify stakeholders of any franchise lease defaults and ultimate resolution. Collect lease assignment documentation upon each store transfer.
- Review all Marco’s Lease Riders for compliance with requirements and work with external stakeholders to resolve requested changes or concerns according to established guidelines; escalate to Corporate Counsel as needed.
- Complete periodic audits of franchise database to ensure compliance and identify gaps in documentation/information; work with franchisees to resolve same.
- Complete compliance and legal review for all franchise renewals, including collection of initial data and follow-up with franchisees and other stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare and send agreement commencement letters to each store upon triggering event.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and provide other various administrative and legal support to the Legal Team as assigned.
Work Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
- 3-5 years of prior work experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a proven record of successful growth and development.
Preferred:
- Ohio Notary Public certification
- Bachelor’s degree or post-baccalaureate certificate in Paralegal Studies or related field
