The General Manager is responsible for the overall store operations including hiring and supervision of staff, product and service quality, and financial health of the store. The General Manager is accountable for achieving store profitability, sales growth, Guest satisfaction and employee engagement measures. Works under the supervision of and reports to a Corporate Business Leader.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains compliance with all corporate-mandated training certification requirements.
- Maintains a positive, can-do attitude and demeanor conducive to a 5-star Guest experience.
- Maintains compliance with all company, store, federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws and ordinances as required (particularly with regards to food, health, and safety).
- Maintains a just-opened store and personal appearance – unless actively making a product, all employees should be cleaning, all the time.
- Advocates and demonstrates Marco’s Cultural Beliefs on a daily basis.
- Demonstrates teamwork and a sense of urgency.
- Abides by all policies as set forth in this Handbook and Marco’s Manuals.
- Leads daily store operations including supervision of store team members, taking, preparing, and delivering guest orders, and cleaning and maintenance of store equipment and facilities.
- Responds to and effectively resolves Guest complaints.
- Effectively implements, maintains, and corrects (if necessary) processes and procedures to ensure operations excellence in Marco’s Pizza 10 Operating Systems.
- Ensures food safety practices that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Establishes and strives to meet store weekly sales goals and service times.
- Effectively implements Local Store Marketing strategies to build the Marco’s brand and drive sales growth.
- Reviews store Profit & Loss Statements regularly and uses the data to implement sustainable EBITDA growth measures.
- Actively manages food cost through inventory control, completing regular inventory, and ordering of products and supplies.
- Actively manages labor costs through use of predictive labor scheduling for store team members.
- Acts to protect company assets to include cash and to maintain the restaurant environment ensuring Guest and team workplace safety.
- Manages all aspects of the Point-of-Sale system.
- Maintains current and accurate data in all corporate systems to include Point of Sale, Inventory IQ, Marco’s University Online, and personnel data.
- Recruits and effectively interviews applicants to select only the best fit and qualified candidates.
- Trains and coaches store team members in all Marco’s procedures to ensure a 5-Star Guest experience every time.
- Leads and models Marco’s cultural beliefs creating Employer of Choice experiences to ensure team members feel valued, appreciated, and set up for success
- Implements, maintains, and corrects (if necessary) the process and procedure for the local store marketing program.
- Implements, maintains, and corrects (if necessary) the process and procedure for Blood-borne pathogens and all other safety procedures.
- Teaches, coaches, and mentors store employees in all Marco’s procedures and meeting the Guest Service Standards.
- Manages existing employees and handles all employee issues, complaints, disciplinary action, and terminations.
- Maintains all store files and records, as required by law and the Marco’s Manuals.
- Consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership, shows initiative, and gives full efforts toward the success of the store.
- Effectively relates to Guests and other crew members in a courteous, cooperative, tactful, and respectful manner (both verbally and in writing).
