Marcum Technology is growing and is looking to add a client facing Sr. Systems Engineer to their Infrastructure Services Team. The Sr. Systems Engineer will support clients with their infrastructure needs, and should have Advanced level experience with MS Exchange, M365, VMWare, Access Control, Cloud/Azure/AWS and on-prem Backup and Storage technologies (NetApp/Dell EMC preferred).
The Sr. Systems Engineer must reside in Eastern or Central US Time Zones.
Qualification/Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of true systems engineering/standard operating systems experience
- Prior Customer facing/professional services experience
- Advanced skills in designing and configuring M365 products (O365, Teams, Intune, Sharepoint etc.)
- Strong Cloud design and automation experience (Azure and AWS)]
- Proficiency working with VMware
- Hands on experience with MDM/MAM solutions
- Strong Storage design and configuration experience (NetApp and/or Dell EMC preferred)
- Professional level verbal and written communication skills
- Strong documentation skills ( design, diagrams, assessment documentation)
- BS in related technology field, or equivalent job experience
- Ability for light national travel
- Experience using JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and PowerShell scripting for Infrastructure as code is a plus
The Sr. Systems Engineer must have the ability to:
- Act as the technical SME on small and large scale infrastructure projects with detailed designs, processes and procedures to coincide with project execution
- Coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing
- Oversee all transitions into production
- Troubleshoot and evaluate issues apply the necessary corrective measures and return a root cause analysis
- Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
- Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
- Manage and document system configurations
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of technologies
- Document any related processes using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
- Work with the network engineers to ensure environments are secure and efficient
- Work with minimal supervision and take ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolution, while also working in a team environment
- Act as escalation point and mentor for junior level staff, providing direction and guidance when necessary
- Participate in pre-sales engagement with clients
- Be available nights and weekends in response to needs of the customer for installation, maintenance and equipment malfunctions
