What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Account Manager position at Marel?
The role of the Key Account Manager is to drive co-creation of value and grow the business overall with a selected customer group. The KAM role is also to strengthen collaboration and relationships at the customer group level, ensure an aligned approach from Marel cross all accounts/sites and strive for customer success and high customer satisfaction. The KAM is responsible for the relationship and management of the customer at a group level from a sales perspective and acts as a trusted advisor for the customer.

- Marel is looking for a Key Account Manager for Poultry to join our Sales team
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 10-15 years sales management experience with Capital Equipment and Food processing is a plus.
- Strong resource management skills such as
- ability to resolve conflict within group to achieve positive outcomes
- ability to provide constructive feedback to resources to achieve positive outcomes
- mentor resources
- identify strengths/weaknesses
- Experience in strategic planning of implementation is a plus.
- Ability to independently manage multiple high-profile client engagements simultaneously
- Looking for someone with a strong desire to succeed and win with a continuous improvement state of mind.
- Exhibits some creativity in problem solving and team management activities, a positive attitude and a "hunter" mindset
- Advanced verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Visio.
- Experience with Capital Equipment required and Food Industry (especially poultry) a plus.
- Day to day sales and customer relationship responsibilities for a given region
- Customer development and marketing of Marel products
- Project identification and development, works with customers to develop project paybacks and justifications.
- Developing and obtaining territory sales goals and Business Plans in specified region
- New customer development
- Drive growth through front line sales roles within Marel
- Generate sales growth across core and strategic product lines
- Maintain the “line of sight” between individual sales results and rewards
- Motivate participants to take actions that maximize growth opportunities
- Required administration work and done in at the time when specified
- Typical travel is four days a week
- Cost containment where it concerns business expenses
- Must build internal relationships to achieve proper support required to complete your responsibilities as a Territory Sales Manager
- Always be ethical when conducting business internally and externally
- Participate in set training programs/Schedules for self-development
