What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/ Laundry position at Margate Health?
Job Description:
Assist in the general cleaning of all common areas and resident rooms. Cleaning duties include: vacuuming, sweeping and dusting; sanitizing floors and rooms; and discarding and removal of waste/trash. You may also be asked to assist with laundry including resident's personal items, linens and bedding.
Responsibilities:
- Must be experienced at cleaning with a keen eye for details
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas
- Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times
- Keeping the resident’s environment clean at all times
- Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors, dusting furniture, emptying trash, clean and disinfect showers and bathrooms
- Assist with laundry when needed
- Follows infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is maintained at all times
- Keep all housekeeping equipment, storage areas, janitor’s closets, and housekeeping carts clean and uncluttered, and free of any hazardous equipment and supplies
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years’ experience in housekeeping duties in a long-term health care setting
