POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Irrigation will be pivotal in leading and maintaining the highest quality and procedural standards across all production activities. This position involves a mix of quality assurance, team leadership, and collaborative problem-solving. This individual will be the essential in managing and resolving scheduling challenges, fostering seamless operations in line with client demands, and working in close alliance with various stakeholders to synchronize production schedules with the companys capabilities. The role requires an agile approach to ensure quality, efficiency, and satisfaction in every project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The core functions of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Assessing staffing, equipment, and crew necessities for successful production.
- Collaborating with Production Coordinators, Client Representatives, Business Development Managers, and Territory VPs to formulate production schedules for all tasks, forecasting several weeks in advance.
- Partnering with the VP of Maintenance Operations, Directors of Production, and SVP of Maintenance to spearhead production department initiatives, including the identification of staffing and crew scheduling needs, as well as addressing other client requests for the department.
- Coordinating with Production Managers to monitor the progress of installation projects and adjust production schedules to meet deadlines.
- Contributing to the development of production budgets.
- Overseeing policy deployment in quality, cost reduction, completion timelines, safety, employee relations, and performance metrics.
- Determining production department headcount based on business demand and seasonal fluctuations.
- Initiating recruitment drives for the production department.
- Developing and implementing safety and training programs to ensure effective outcomes.
- Establishing career paths and training initiatives for associates within the production department.
- Orchestrating the company's internal resources to support production operations, including aiding snow command in identifying routes.
- Facilitating communication among different departments concerning client requests, contract details pertinent to production, administrative matters, and billing.
- Upholding a high standard of quality for all work executed.
- Assisting with the completion and review of performance evaluations.
- Supporting the snow removal process, which includes assigning routes, mobilizing staff, and logging client communications.
- Regularly evaluating work to ascertain if additional measures are necessary to fulfill internal and external client expectations.
- Promptly completing and ensuring the accuracy of all requisite paperwork.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is responsible for the assignment, oversight, and verification of work conducted by other employees, including:
- Crew Leaders Oversee the execution of work by crew members, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Crew Members Perform maintenance tasks as directed by the Crew Leaders, maintaining landscapes according to client specifications.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 5 years of field experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of equipment and plant materials used in landscape maintenance.
- Possession of a valid Illinois Drivers License, CDL preferred.
- Valid Certified Landscape Technician license.
- Proficient in navigating and utilizing company production software (Aspire) with accuracy.
- Capable of minimizing downtime and preparing for future client needs during slower periods.
- Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication skills, maintaining consistent contact with external clients and Mariani associates.
- Aptitude for leading and directing others efficiently.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to deliver high-quality outcomes within stringent deadlines.
- Proficiency in general computer operations and Microsoft Office suite.
- Responsible for ensuring work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards.
- Flexible and able to perform duties as required by fluctuating work volumes.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, reaching, and sitting. Physical requirements may also include lifting, bending, walking, and pushing on an occasional basis. Work involves driving a car to various job locations. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to client needs and deadlines.
